Here’s a topic that is often overlooked. The structure of a home is what molds an individual into whom they will become. It is where a child receives his or her life’s lessons, moral beliefs, manners, and customs. Most importantly, it leads one to the importance of caring for God’s temple.
So, take a moment and reflect. If you are a parent are you modeling to your child the characteristics that the Lord has set in place? To the youth of this generation examine yourself, what are you learning and does it edify the Kingdom of God?
Understand, that each of us are called to reflect Jesus Christ. Genesis 1:27 States, that every life is made in the image of God. Our homes should reflect that it is set on an unwavering foundation which is our Heavenly Father. The Lord makes no mistake in setting the home as our first ministry.
Each member of the household holds a responsibility. Colossians 3:18-21 States, for the wives to respect and honor their husbands, for the husbands to love their wives, and for the children to obey their parents. These are the standards set before us so that we may follow in them.
The beauty in this, is that God holds no prejudice and that his son died for everyone in your household. Let your home be a dwelling for the presence of God.
